Arc fault detection circuit breaker, 1P+N, 16 A C-curve
The Schneider Electric A9FDB616 is an Acti9 iDPN N Arc arc fault detection circuit breaker (AFDD) — a single-module (36 mm wide) 1P+N device that combines a 16 A thermal-magnetic MCB with series arc fault detection per EN/IEC 62606. Breaking capacity is 6000 A Icn at 230 V AC 50 Hz, conforming to IEC 60898-1 — sufficient for residential and light commercial final circuits where the prospective short-circuit current stays under 6 kA. The limitation class 3 (per IEC 60898-1) means it limits let-through energy well enough to protect downstream wiring in most final subcircuits. Rated current of 16 A is specified at 30 °C; standard thermal derating applies for higher ambient temperatures inside a panel.
DIN rail integration and wiring
Neutral is on the left, phase on the right, with a 9 mm pitch between phase and neutral terminals. The toggle actuator provides ON/OFF and fault-trip indication via the local signalling window.
