The Schneider Electric A9KF21120BQ is a 1-pole Acti9 K60 miniature circuit breaker (MCB) rated 20 A with a B-curve, designed for AC distribution in final subcircuits. It snaps onto a DIN rail (18 mm width per pole) and provides thermal-magnetic overcurrent protection per EN/IEC 60898-1.
B-curve tripping and what it means on the line
The B-curve (magnetic trip at 3 to 5 times the rated current, or 60 to 100 A for this 20 A unit) is the standard choice for resistive and general-purpose loads — lighting, small heaters, control transformers — where inrush is low. It holds through the 20 A continuous load and trips fast on a hard short. The thermal element handles sustained overloads; the magnetic element clears the fault. At 20 000 electrical cycles and the same mechanical endurance, this MCB is rated for routine switching in addition to protection duty.
Mounts on DIN rail, fixed position. Tunnel terminals accept 1 to 25 mm² rigid or 1 to 16 mm² flexible copper; strip 14 mm and torque to 2 N·m.
