Rated for a nominal discharge current of 5 kA and a maximum discharge current of 20 kA, this Type 2 SPD handles the surge currents typical of a main distribution board in a building or industrial panel. The 460 V maximum continuous operating voltage means it can be applied on 400 V phase-to-phase systems (common in three-phase panels) as well as 230/400 V TN or IT networks. The < 25 ns response time ensures the MOV clamps fast enough to protect sensitive electronics downstream. Compliant with EN 61643-11 and IEC 61643-1, the cartridge carries the standards required for fixed installation surge protection in most European and international electrical codes.
The cartridge measures 18 mm wide, 50 mm high, and 60 mm deep, occupying a single modular pitch on the DIN rail when installed in its iPRD base. The white (RAL 9003) housing with a red/white flag indicator gives local visual status of the protection element. IP20 front-face protection is suitable for enclosed distribution boards; no washdown rating.
