The Schneider Electric A9N18360 is an Acti9 C120N miniature circuit breaker rated 63 A at 30 °C with a C curve (magnetic trip between 5 and 10 times In). The dual rating to EN/IEC 60947-2 (6 kA Icu at 440 V, 10 kA Icu at 380–415 V) also qualifies it for industrial control panel use where the standard demands 60947-2 rather than 60898-1. The thermal-magnetic trip unit provides overload protection via a bimetal strip and short-circuit protection via a solenoid, a mature technology that requires no auxiliary power for trip operation.
Deployment context
Rated for distribution in AC networks at 50/60 Hz, this 2-pole breaker protects two poles — typically a single-phase line and neutral, or two legs of a three-phase system where a 2-pole device is needed for a 240 V split-phase supply. The IP20 finger-safe terminals are suitable for enclosed panels; the breaker is not rated for washdown environments.
Tunnel-type terminals accept 1–50 mm² rigid or 1.5–35 mm² flexible conductors. The neutral position is on the left — maintain that orientation when bus-barring multiple breakers in a panel to keep phase alignment consistent.
