The Schneider Electric A9N19760 is an Acti9 DPN Vigi RCBO — a combined overcurrent and residual-current device in a single 36 mm-wide module. It protects a single-phase final subcircuit against overload, short-circuit (B-curve magnetic trip at 3 to 5 × In), and earth leakage, all in one clip-on DIN-rail unit. Rated 40 A with a 6 kA breaking capacity at 230 V AC, it is sized for residential or light commercial distribution boards where space is tight and you want one device instead of a separate MCB and RCCB.
The 40 A rated current (In) sets the continuous load ceiling — size the downstream cable and load for that, not above. The B-curve characteristic means the magnetic trip fires between 3 and 5 times In (120 to 200 A), so it suits resistive and general-purpose loads with modest inrush; avoid it on motor or transformer circuits that need a C or D curve. The 6 kA Icn at 230 V AC is the short-circuit breaking capacity per EN/IEC 61009-2-1 — adequate for most domestic and small commercial boards, but verify the prospective fault current at the point of installation. Integrated earth-leakage protection means no separate RCCB needed; the device occupies 4 × 9 mm pitches (36 mm) on the DIN rail, leaving room for other modules in the enclosure. Clip-on mounting to a standard DIN rail, tunnel terminals accepting 0.75 to 16 mm² rigid or 0.33 to 10 mm² flexible, and a tightening torque of 2 N·m.
