D-curve magnetic trip triggers at 10 to 14 times rated current (10...14 x In). That means the breaker stays closed through the short-duration inrush of a motor or a transformer primary, but opens fast on a hard short. The 25 A rating and 2-pole configuration protect both phase conductors in a single-phase or split-phase circuit.
