The Schneider Electric A9P44720 is an Acti9 iC40N miniature circuit-breaker (MCB) with a 20 A rated current, B-curve tripping characteristic, and 3P+N poles. It breaks 10 kA Icu at 400 V AC (EN/IEC 60947-2) and 6000 A Icn at 400 V AC (EN/IEC 60898-1). The thermal-magnetic trip unit covers both overload and short-circuit protection for distribution circuits.
The B-curve (magnetic trip 3 to 5 x In) means it trips between 60 A and 100 A on short-circuit — standard for residential and light commercial lighting and socket-outlet circuits where inrush is low. For a 3P+N unit, the neutral is switched and the three protected poles handle the phases. The 20 A rating suits branch circuits feeding 4–5 kW loads on a 400 V three-phase system.
Deployment context
Clip-on mounting onto a DIN rail and 6 module pitches (54 mm wide) means it fits standard distribution boards. The IP20 finger-safe enclosure is fine for enclosed panels.
Current-production part (lifecycle stage: current).
