The Schneider Electric A9P52625 is an Acti9 iC40 miniature circuit breaker (MCB) rated 25 A with a C-curve trip characteristic, configured as 1P+N. It carries a 6 kA Icu breaking capacity at 230 V AC per EN/IEC 60947-2 and a 4500 A Icn rating per EN/IEC 60898-1 — dual certification that covers both distribution and industrial branch-circuit protection. The C-curve magnetic tripping occurs between 5 and 10 times the rated current per 60898-1, with an 8 x In ±20% window per 60947-2. Clip-on mounting to DIN rail (18 mm width, 2 module pitches) and IP20 finger-safe terminals make it a standard panel fit.
The 4500 A Icn (IEC 60898-1) is the rated short-circuit capacity for repeated operation in residential or commercial distribution panels. For most industrial control panels fed from a 25 kA transformer, this breaker requires an upstream current-limiting device to keep the prospective fault current within 6 kA. Thermal-magnetic trip unit: the thermal bimetal protects against sustained overloads (time-inverse characteristic), while the solenoid triggers instantaneously on short-circuit. Rated for 10,000 electrical and 20,000 mechanical cycles — sufficient for most panel applications where the breaker operates infrequently.
Integration
At 18 mm wide (2 x 9 mm pitches), it occupies one module slot in a distribution board. Strip 14 mm of insulation. Torque to 2 N·m — use a torque screwdriver; overtightening can distort the tunnel clamp. The IP20 front face allows safe operation in an enclosure with the door open; IP40 modular enclosure rating applies when mounted in a Schneider distribution board. Local signaling includes ON/OFF toggle position and a separate trip indicator (window turns red when the breaker has tripped on fault). Earth-leakage protection requires a separate Vigi iC40 block — not integrated into this unit.
