The A9Q16225 is an add-on residual current device (RCD) from the Schneider Electric Acti9 Vigi iC60 range, designed to plug into a compatible Acti9 iC60 MCB to provide earth leakage protection in a single module width. It is a 2-pole unit rated at 25 A, with a 500 mA sensitivity and AC-type (sinusoidal) earth leakage detection.
The 500 mA sensitivity is an instantaneous trip — no intentional time delay. That means it clears a ground fault as soon as the residual current exceeds the threshold, which is typical for general-purpose socket-outlet or final-circuit protection where selectivity with upstream RCDs is not required. The AC-type detection covers sinusoidal AC residual currents only; if the circuit includes non-linear loads like VFDs, LED drivers, or switched-mode power supplies that can generate pulsed DC or high-frequency leakage, an A-type or B-type RCD would be needed instead. Rated operational voltage is 230…415 V AC 50/60 Hz, which covers single-phase (L-N) and two-phase (L-L) circuits within a 2-pole configuration. The IP20 / IP40 (modular enclosure) rating means it is protected against solid objects larger than 12 mm (IP20) and, once installed in a modular enclosure, against objects larger than 1 mm (IP40).
The device occupies 3 x 9 mm pitches, or 27 mm width. The plug-in connection to the MCB means the RCD shares the same busbar and load terminals as the iC60 breaker — no separate wiring for the phase and neutral through the RCD. Bottom terminals are tunnel type, accepting 1…25 mm² rigid or 1…16 mm² flexible conductors, with a tightening torque of 2 N·m. Wire stripping length for the bottom connection is 14 mm.
