The Schneider Electric A9R04291 is an Acti9 iID residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) — a 2-pole, 100 A unit with 300 mA earth-leakage sensitivity, Type A protection, rated for 220-240 V AC 50/60 Hz networks. The 300 mA sensitivity is the key fit check: this is a fire-protection or equipment-protection device, not a personnel-protection RCCB (those are 30 mA). For a submain feeding a workshop or a machine group where nuisance tripping on a 30 mA unit would be a problem, the 300 mA A9R04291 is the standard choice.
Rated breaking capacity and coordination
Rated breaking and making capacity is 1500 A (Idm and Im both 1500 A). The 1500 A figure is typical for this class of RCCB; it's not a standalone SCCR. Rated impulse withstand voltage is 6 kV (Uimp), and insulation voltage is 500 V AC.
Installation and wiring
Clip-on DIN rail mount, neutral on the left. Terminals accept 1-35 mm² rigid or 1-25 mm² flexible cable, with a stripping length of 14 mm and a tightening torque of 3.5 N.m. That's a solid connection range for a 100 A device — 35 mm² is roughly the right conductor size for 100 A in PVC cable. IP20 on the terminals (finger-safe), IP40 inside a modular enclosure.
