It is rated 40 A continuous, 4-pole (4P), with a 300 mA Type A selective earth-leakage sensitivity. The "selective" time delay means it coordinates with downstream RCCBs: in a fault, the downstream unit trips first, keeping the A9R05440 as the backup, which avoids a whole-panel blackout for a single branch fault. Type A detection covers sinusoidal AC and pulsating DC residual currents, which is the standard requirement for most commercial and industrial final circuits with electronic loads. The device clips onto a DIN rail (9 mm pitches: 8 units wide, so 72 mm) and is intended for outgoer (load-side) positions in distribution boards. The IP20/IP40 enclosure ratings mean it is protected against solid objects larger than 12 mm (IP20) or 1 mm (IP40 in modular enclosure) — standard for enclosed panel mounting, not for wet or dusty environments.
Compliance documentation is provided by Schneider Electric for the Acti9 iID series: the device is certified to EN/IEC 61008-1, carries CE marking for the European market, and meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive and EMC Directive. RoHS and REACH declarations are available from the manufacturer's documentation portal.
Integration and mounting notes
Neutral position is left. Terminals accept 1...35 mm² rigid or 1...25 mm² flexible wire; stripping length is 14 mm. The toggle control type gives a clear contact position indicator.
