The Schneider Electric A9R22480 is a 4-pole residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) from the Acti9 iID series, rated at 80 A with 100 mA earth-leakage sensitivity. Rated breaking and making capacity is 1500 A (Idm and Im), sufficient for fault clearing on most final distribution circuits in commercial and light industrial outgoer positions.
The 80 A rated current (In) is the maximum continuous load the RCCB can carry without tripping. 100 mA sensitivity provides earth-leakage protection while reducing nuisance tripping on circuits with natural leakage. Instantaneous time-delay means the RCCB trips as soon as the residual current exceeds 100 mA, within IEC 61008-1 limits. Voltage-independent tripping technology means the RCCB does not require a separate supply to operate its trip mechanism — it uses the fault energy itself. This makes it reliable even if the neutral is lost upstream.
The 4-pole unit occupies 8 x 9 mm pitches (72 mm width), depth behind panel is 69 mm, embedding depth 44 mm. Wire stripping length is 14 mm. IP20 finger-safe terminals (IP40 in modular enclosure).
