The A9R71240 is a Schneider Electric Acti9 iID residual current circuit breaker (RCCB), 2-pole, rated 40 A with 30 mA earth-leakage sensitivity, Type AC. It protects against sinusoidal AC fault currents in residential and commercial final circuits, per EN/IEC 61008-1.
Terminals accept 1–35 mm² rigid or 1–25 mm² flexible (with or without ferrule); strip length is 14 mm, tighten to 3.5 N·m. IP20 rated on the body, IP40 inside a modular enclosure — suitable for dry indoor distribution boards.
Insulation voltage is 500 V AC. Impulse withstand voltage is 6 kV. The residual current tripping technology is voltage-independent — it operates without an external power source, so it still clears a ground fault even if the line voltage drops. The earth-leakage protection is instantaneous (no intentional time delay). Pollution degree 3 environment. Mechanical durability is 20,000 cycles; electrical durability is 15,000 cycles at AC-1 resistive load. The device is located as an outgoer in the distribution system.
