The A9TAB2225 is a Schneider Electric Acti9 Active ARC iC60 active arc fault detection add-on block, designed to clip onto the left side of a compatible Acti9 iC60 miniature circuit breaker (MCB). It monitors the downstream circuit for series and parallel arc faults, tripping the host MCB when it detects the characteristic high-frequency noise of an arc, per EN/IEC 62606. This is a 2-pole (2P) unit rated at 25 A, 230 V AC, 50 Hz, intended for outgoer positions in final distribution boards.
The 25 A rated current (In) matches the host MCB rating. The 230 V AC operational voltage is standard single-phase final circuit level. Wire connections are tunnel-type terminals accepting 1...10 mm² flexible or 1...16 mm² rigid cable, with a tightening torque of 2 N.m and a strip length of 14 mm. The electrical connection to the MCB is via screws, so the block physically bridges onto the breaker's line-side terminals.
Deployment context and compliance
This block is designed for use in final distribution boards (outgoer location) in commercial and industrial installations where arc fault protection is required by local codes or insurance specifications. It is certified to EN/IEC 62606 (the standard for arc fault detection devices, AFDDs). The pollution degree is 2 (normal, non-conductive pollution only), overvoltage category III (distribution level). It carries the IMQ quality label (Italian mark). The unit is tropicalised to severity B per IEC 60068-2-30 for 28 days, meaning it withstands damp heat cycling. It is compatible with the EcoStruxure Panel Server range (Entry, Advanced, Universal) for data recording and remote monitoring of event logs, maintenance indicators, and date/time-stamped trip events.
