Arc fault detection circuit breaker, 32 A, C-curve
The Schneider Electric A9TPE4632 is an Acti9 iC40 ARC arc fault detection circuit breaker (AFDD) — a 1P+N device rated 32 A with a C-curve magnetic trip of 5...10 x In. It combines thermal-magnetic overcurrent protection with series arc fault detection in a single 36 mm wide DIN-rail module, intended for outgoing circuits where series arcing (e.g. from a loose terminal or damaged cable) needs to be caught before it starts a fire. Breaking capacity is given under three standards: 3000 A Icn1 and 6000 A Icn per EN/IEC 60898-1, and 10 kA Icu per EN/IEC 60947-2 — all at 230 V AC 50 Hz. That means the part carries a domestic-grade Icn for MCB duty and a higher Icu for industrial backup protection; in a panel, the 10 kA Icu figure is the one to use for SCCR coordination with an upstream breaker.
Cable entry from top and bottom; tunnel terminals accept 1...16 mm² rigid or 1...10 mm² flexible, with a 14 mm strip length and 2 N·m tightening torque. Tropicalisation severity B per IEC 60068-2-30 (28-day damp heat cycling) means it holds up in non-conditioned enclosures in humid environments — a detail that matters if this breaker lands in a coastal or unconditioned plant room.
