The Schneider Electric A9W24225 is an add-on residual current device (RCD) from the Acti9 Vigi iC60 range, designed to bolt onto the line side of an iC60 miniature circuit breaker with double terminals. It occupies 3 x 9 mm pitches on a DIN rail, clips on, and is wired via tunnel-type terminals accepting 1–25 mm² rigid or 1–16 mm² flexible cable, with a 2 N·m tightening torque and 14 mm strip length. This is the outgoer protection module for a 2-pole circuit, rated 25 A continuous, 300 mA earth-leakage sensitivity, Type A (pulsating DC and AC residual currents), instantaneous trip. It operates at 230/415 V AC, 50/60 Hz, with a rated insulation voltage of 500 V AC and impulse withstand of 6 kV. The voltage-independent tripping technology means it does not need an auxiliary supply to detect leakage — it works even if the line voltage is lost.
The 300 mA sensitivity and Type A waveform cover most commercial and light industrial loads that generate pulsating DC leakage (variable-speed drives, UPS, LED lighting). Instantaneous trip means no intentional time delay — it clears earth faults within the standard IEC 61009-1 envelope, so it is not suitable for downstream selectivity with a time-delayed RCD. The 25 A current rating matches the upstream MCB; if the breaker is smaller, the RCD still works but the combination is limited by the breaker.
