The Schneider Electric A9Y81725 is an Acti9 Vigi iC40 add-on residual current device (RCD) designed to bolt onto the side of an Acti9 iC40 MCB via screws, creating a combined RCBO assembly in a single DIN-rail footprint.
The 300 mA sensitivity is the standard threshold for fire-protection and prevention of insulation degradation in fixed equipment circuits — it is not for personal shock protection, which requires 30 mA. Voltage-independent tripping means the RCD operates without needing a separate power supply or the line voltage — it uses the fault energy itself to trip, so protection remains active even if the neutral is lost upstream.
Neutral is on the left, matching the standard Acti9 busbar polarity. Tunnel terminals accept 1…16 mm² rigid or 1…10 mm² flexible at the bottom, with a tightening torque of 2 N·m.
Standards and environmental limits
Operating temperature range -25…60 °C, storage -40…85 °C, with 95 % relative humidity at 55 °C. IP20 on the device body, IP40 inside the modular enclosure. Impulse withstand voltage 4 kV. Quality marks include OVE and IMQ.
