The Schneider APM6A0CTLN401 is the control module for the Altivar Process Modular drive range, rated 380...480 V supply and carrying STO (Safe Torque Off) SIL 3 as a standard safety function.
Supply rails and wiring
The module needs three separate supply rails: 24 V DC (19...30 V) for digital inputs, a regulated 10.5 V DC ±5 % for an external 1 to 10 kΩ reference potentiometer, and 24 V DC (21...27 V) for the digital inputs and STO logic. The insulation test is 1 MΩ at 500 V DC for one minute to earth.
Safety and compliance
The module carries CE marking and is designed to IEC 61800-3 (EMC environment), IEC 61800-5-1 (safety), IEC 61000-3-12 (harmonic limits), IEC 60721-3 (environmental classification), and IEC 61508 / IEC 13849-1 for functional safety.
Thermal and environmental limits
Operates from -10 to 40 °C without derating, and up to 50 °C with derating. Power dissipation hits 2390 W at a 2.5 kHz switching frequency under forced convection. Pollution degree 2 per IEC 61800-5-1, and chemical/dust resistance class 3C3 / 3S3 per IEC 60721-3-3.
Communications and fieldbus
Ethernet/Modbus TCP at 10/100 Mbit/s via RJ45 on the remote graphic terminal, plus Modbus serial at 4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s (2-wire RS-485, RTU frame) on a second RJ45. Supports half/full duplex and autonegotiation. Modbus serial addressing from 1 to 247, with configurable parity (8-bit, odd/even/none).
