The Schneider APM6A0CTLY6 is the control module for the Altivar Process Modular drive range, rated 500...690 V supply. It packs STO (Safe Torque Off) rated SIL 3, so it handles the safety separation without a separate safety relay in many configurations. Communication runs over Ethernet/Modbus TCP and Modbus serial, with a remote graphic terminal via RJ45.
Supply and signal conditioning
Digital inputs take 24 V DC (19...30 V), and there's a separate internal 24 V (21...27 V) rail for the STO circuit. The module also provides a 10.5 V DC ±5 % reference for a 1 to 10 kΩ potentiometer — handy if you're wiring a speed pot directly to the control unit without an external supply.
Safety and environment
STO is SIL 3 per IEC 61508, so it's suitable for safety functions up to that integrity level. Pollution degree 2, vibration resistance to 1.5 mm peak-to-peak at 2–13 Hz and 0.5 gn at 13–200 Hz, and shock rated at 7 gn for 11 ms. Ambient operating range is -10 to 40 °C without derating, 40 to 50 °C with derating. Storage from -40 to 70 °C.
Communications and fieldbus
Ethernet/Modbus TCP runs at 10/100 Mbit/s, half/full duplex with auto-negotiation. Modbus serial uses 2-wire RS-485 at 4.8 to 38.4 kbit/s, RTU frame, slave addresses 1–247. Data format is 8 bits with configurable parity. The remote graphic terminal connects via RJ45 for both Ethernet and serial.
