Standards and environmental fit
The APM6L0CTLN4: This module carries CE marking and is designed to a dense stack of IEC and UL standards: IEC 61800-3 (EMC for drive systems), IEC 61800-5-1 (safety), IEC 61000-3-12 (harmonic limits), IEC 60721-3 (environmental classification), plus functional safety standards IEC 61508 and IEC 13849-1, and UL 61800-5-1. Pollution degree 2 per IEC 61800-5-1, which is the typical industrial environment — non-conductive pollution that can become conductive only with condensation. The environmental resistance is rated class 3C3 (chemical) and 3S3 (dust) per IEC 60721-3-3, so it's built for the dirty, chemically aggressive conditions you find in water/wastewater or heavy process plants.
Ruggedness and installation constraints
The operating ambient range is -10...50 °C, storage -40...70 °C. Vibration resistance is 1.5 mm peak-to-peak at 2-13 Hz and 0.5 gn at 13-200 Hz; shock resistance is 4 gn for 11 ms. Operating altitude goes up to 4800 m with current derating above 1000 m. Relative humidity tolerance is 5...95% without condensation. Insulation resistance is > 1 MOhm at 500 V DC for 1 minute to earth. These numbers tell you the module can handle the mechanical and thermal stress of a typical drive cabinet on a plant floor, but it needs the cabinet to keep out dust and water.
EMC immunity
Electromagnetic compatibility is specified with immunity test levels per IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD level 3), IEC 61000-4-3 (radiated RF level 3), IEC 61000-4-4 (fast transient level 4), IEC 61000-4-5 (surge 1.2/50 µs - 8/20 µs level 3), and IEC 61000-4-6 (conducted RF level 3). Level 4 on fast transients is notably aggressive — that's the kind of immunity you need when the drive is in a panel with contactors and relays switching inductive loads. Level 3 on the others is standard for industrial drives. No surprises here for an Altivar Process series module.
