The APMBC0CTLN4 is the control module for the Altivar Process Modular drive family, rated for a 380...480 V supply bus. It carries the STO (safe torque off) function at SIL 3, so it can serve as the safety isolation element in a drive system without a separate safety relay — the 24 V DC supply for STO (21...27 V) is isolated from the digital-input supply rail (24 V DC, 19...30 V). The internal 10.5 V DC reference for a 1 to 10 kOhm potentiometer is also on board, which simplifies speed-reference wiring for local control.
Communications and integration
Two RJ45 ports on the remote graphic terminal handle Ethernet/Modbus TCP and Modbus serial (RS-485, 2-wire). The serial side runs RTU frames at 4.8, 9.6, 19.2, or 38.4 kbit/s with configurable parity; addressing spans 1...247. Ethernet runs at 10/100 Mbit/s with half/full-duplex autonegotiation. The module acts as a Modbus TCP slave, so it drops into a PLC network as a standard node — no gateway required.
Rated IP00 (open-frame), so it lives inside a cabinet. Ambient operating range is -10 to 40 °C, with derating up to 50 °C. Storage spans -40 to 70 °C. Pollution degree 2 per IEC 61800-5-1, and it carries chemical resistance class 3C3 plus dust resistance class 3S3 per IEC 60721-3-3. Vibration tolerance is 1.5 mm peak-to-peak at 2...13 Hz and 0.5 gn at 13...200 Hz; shock is 7 gn for 11 ms. Altitude derating starts at 1000 m — 1 % per 100 m up to 4800 m.
