Drive identity and power rating
The ATH230D11S6 is a Schneider Altivar HVAC ATH200 series variable speed drive rated for 11 kW (15 hp) motor output. It accepts 525 V to 600 V three-phase input and delivers output voltage up to the supply level. Line current draw is 15.8 A at 525 V and 14.1 A at 600 V; apparent power is 14.7 kVA at 600 V. This fits HVAC pump, fan, and compressor loads in commercial building and light industrial applications.
Safety integration and compliance
Safety level is SIL 3 per IEC 61508 and PL e per ISO 13849-1, with integrated STO (safe torque off) on discrete inputs. Use this drive in safety circuits up to Cat 4 / PL e without an external safety relay for the stop function. Approvals include CULus, CE, UKCA, RCM, KC, EAC, and ATEX. The drive meets IEC 61800-5-1, IEC 61800-3 (environment 1 category C2 and environment 2 category C3), UL 508C, and IEC 61508.
Cabinet fit and mounting
Cabinet-mount design: 330 mm height, 180 mm width, 198 mm depth. Operating position is vertical ±10°. Allow 100 mm clearance above and below for airflow; noise level is 58 dB. Pollution degree 2 (normally non-conductive, occasional condensation). Altitude derating applies above 1000 m: reduce current 1 % per 100 m up to 3000 m.
Communication and I/O options
Includes a BACnet IP communication module (option card). The drive also supports Modbus serial and BACnet MS/TP via 2-wire RS-485, with configurable baud rates from 4800 bps to 76.8 kbit/s. Three analogue inputs (AI1 voltage 0-10 V, AI2 bipolar ±10 V, AI3 current 0-20 mA), six digital inputs (DI1-DI6 at 24 V DC), and two configurable relay outputs. DI5 can serve as a pulse input up to 30 kHz.
Application-specific functions
Built-in functions include fire mode (override for smoke extraction), run permissive, PID controller, additional PID, damper control, and underload detection for broken belt. These are configured via the drive's parameter set without extra hardware. Protection covers line supply phase loss, motor phase loss, overvoltage/undervoltage, overheating, overload (with PTC probes), short-circuit between motor phases, and earth faults. Output frequency range is 0.599 kHz.
