What the ATH630D90N4Z drives and where it fits
The ATH630D90N4Z is a 90 kW normal-duty (75 kW heavy-duty) AC drive from the Altivar HVAC ATH600 series, purpose-built for pump, fan, and compressor loads in commercial HVAC and light industrial applications. It delivers 112.9 kVA apparent power in normal duty and 98.2 kVA in heavy duty, with a line current of 156.2 A at 380 V (normal) or 118 A at 480 V (heavy).
Safety and compliance — STO, SIL 3, and global marks
Safe Torque Off (STO) is integrated as standard, certified to SIL 3 per IEC 61508 and PL = e per ISO 13849-1. This eliminates the need for an external safety relay in many guarding circuits — the drive itself removes torque from the motor when the STO input is de-energised. The drive carries CE, UKCA, CULus, EAC, RCM, ATEX, and KCC markings, and complies with UL 61800-5-1, EN/IEC 61800-3, EN/IEC 61800-5-1, IEC 61000-3-12, IEC 60721-3, IEC 61508, and ISO 13849-1. RoHS and WEEE compliance is confirmed — no exemptions to chase for EU-market shipments.
Application-specific functions built in
Beyond basic V/Hz and sensorless vector control, the drive includes fire mode, forced fire mode, run permissive, PID controller with three additional PID sets, damper control, underload detection for broken belt, scroll compressor management, skipped frequencies, catch on the fly, and cybersecure firmware update. These are not optional cards — they are standard in the firmware, configurable via the integrated keypad or fieldbus. The control supply is 24 V DC (19...30 V) from an external source; the digital inputs and STO are powered internally at 24 V DC. Communication options include Modbus RTU, BACnet MS/TP, and optional PROFINET, Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP, or BACnet IP via communication modules.
