90 kW normal duty / 75 kW heavy duty at 480 V
The ATH650D90N4 is a Schneider Electric Altivar HVAC drive from the ATH600 series, rated 90 kW for normal duty and 75 kW for heavy duty at 480 V. That means on a fan or pump load (normal duty) you get the full 90 kW, but on a constant-torque load like a conveyor or compressor (heavy duty) the drive is rated 75 kW — the thermal capacity is the same, the duty cycle is the difference. Line current at 480 V normal duty is 136 A; heavy duty pulls 118 A. At 380 V the numbers are 156.2 A and 134 A respectively. The apparent power rating is 112.9 kVA normal duty, 98.2 kVA heavy duty — that's the kVA the drive draws from the line at full load, which is what you size the upstream breaker and cable for.
Safety and compliance — SIL 3 STO, integrated C3 filter
Safe Torque Off (STO) is built in, certified to SIL 3 per IEC 61508 and PL e per ISO 13849-1. That means the drive can be used in safety circuits up to that level without an external safety relay — the STO function removes torque-producing power from the motor, and the drive reports the status back to the safety controller. A Class C3 EMC filter is integrated, so the drive meets the conducted emission limits for industrial environments (second environment) without an external filter. Approvals include CE, UKCA, CULus, EAC, RCM, ATEX, and KCC — it is accepted in most regulatory jurisdictions for industrial installation.
Wall-mount footprint and integration
Control wiring uses RJ45 and open-style terminals. The drive includes relay outputs (R1: 1 NO + 1 NC, R2 and R3: 1 NO each, all rated 100,000 cycles) and analog I/O with accuracy within ±1.5 % for inputs and ±1 % for outputs over a 60 °C swing. Digital inputs sample at 2 ms + 0.5 ms; the PID loop runs at the same rate.
