Active production — no lifecycle risk for BOM planning
The ATV1200A10905555: For a 911 kW medium-voltage drive that anchors a large motor installation, a lifecycle change would trigger significant requalification cost — the current status gives the procurement team a clean planning horizon.
Medium-voltage input — not a standard 480 V drive
This drive operates from a 2970...3630 V supply, placing it in the medium-voltage class. The 30-pulse diode rectifier front end delivers low line-current harmonics — typically below 5% THD without an active filter — which simplifies compliance with IEEE 519 at the point of common coupling. The 135 A line current at 1090 kVA apparent power reflects the medium-voltage, high-power nature. Prospective short-circuit withstand is 31.5 kA for 150 ms, so the upstream protection must coordinate with this fault-clearing capability. Dielectric strength between earth and power terminals is 20 kV AC, confirming the insulation coordination for a 3.3 kV class system. Overvoltage category II per EN/IEC 61800-5-1 applies.
Floor-standing enclosure — site layout and cooling plan required
The drive ships in a floor-standing enclosure with separate air flows for power and control sections. Standard efficiency dimensions are 3660 mm wide × 1400 mm deep × 2520 mm high; the high-efficiency variant adds width to 3960 mm and depth to 1600 mm, height to 2670 mm. Cooling is forced convection, moving 16500 m³/h (standard) or 19800 m³/h (high efficiency) of air. The drive room HVAC must handle this exhaust volume plus the 80 dB noise level from the cooling fans. Operating position is vertical ±10 degrees. Above 1000 m altitude, derate output current by 0.6% per 100 m. Relative humidity range is 0...90% (0...95% optional).
Overload profiles and motor compatibility
Two overload duty profiles are available: standard overload withstands 1.2× In for 60 s and 1.5× In for 3 s; high overload withstands 1.5× In for 60 s and 1.85× In for 3 s. The high-overload profile suits applications with frequent peak torque demands, such as crushers or mills. The drive supports both synchronous and asynchronous motors, with a speed range of 20...100%. Output voltage equals the supply voltage minus rectifier and inverter drops. Integrated EMC filter and electrical isolation between power and control simplify panel wiring and reduce conducted emissions back to the line.
Control I/O and system composition
The drive includes 4 software-configurable analog inputs (0...20 mA / 4...20 mA, 24 V max, 250 Ω impedance) and 1 analog output of the same type. Discrete inputs number 6 standard, expandable to 10 optional. Product composition includes 2 plinths, a phase-shifting transformer, medium-voltage arrestors, cooling fans, a human-machine interface, and 15 power cells. The M10 screw-type bar connection accepts up to 6 × 40 mm² cable per phase, entry from top or bottom. External control supply is 220 V AC at 3 kVA; internal cooling fan supply is 380 V AC. Optional external supplies for both are available.
