Floor-standing footprint and site planning
The ATV1200A14006060 ships in a floor-standing enclosure with separate air flows for the power section and control compartment. Dimensions are 3960 mm wide by 2670 mm high; depth is 1600 mm for the high-efficiency variant and 1500 mm for standard efficiency. Forced convection cooling moves 19800 m³/h (high efficiency) or 16500 m³/h (standard efficiency) of air. The 80 dB noise level means ear protection is needed within a few meters during commissioning. Operating position is vertical ±10 degrees. Altitude derating applies above 1000 m: 0.6 % current reduction per 100 m up to 2000 m.
Power stage and overload capability
Rated for 1170 kW motor power at 1400 kVA apparent power, with a 30-pulse diode rectifier input that reduces line harmonics below IEEE 519 thresholds without external filters. Line current is 135 A at the 2970–3630 V supply range. Overload capability is specified in two profiles: standard overload handles 1.2× In for 60 s and 1.5× In for 3 s; high overload handles 1.5× In for 60 s and 1.85× In for 3 s. This lets the drive ride through motor starting and process upsets without tripping. Output voltage follows the supply voltage (≤ power supply voltage). The drive is suitable for both synchronous and asynchronous motors.
Construction and internal architecture
The drive comprises a phase-shifting transformer, 15 power cells, medium-voltage arrestors, cooling fans, and a human-machine interface, all housed in a grey (RAL 7032) enclosure. The transformer provides the multi-pulse input that cancels low-order harmonics. Electrical connection uses M10 screw-type bar terminals with clamping capacity for 6 × 40 mm² conductors, entry from bottom or top. Ground fault protection is integrated into the drive. Dielectric strength is 20 kV AC between earth and power terminals. Prospective line Isc rating is 31.5 kA for 150 ms.
Control interfaces and I/O
Four software-configurable analogue inputs accept 0–20 mA or 4–20 mA, 24 V max, 250 Ω impedance. One analogue output is similarly configurable. Six discrete inputs are standard, expandable to ten. Control supply is 220 V AC, 3 kVA external; an optional 220 V AC/DC supply is available. The cooling fan runs on a separate 380 V AC supply, also optional for external feed. Electrical isolation is maintained between power and control circuits. Pollution degree 2 per EN/IEC 61800-5-1 applies.
Compliance and lifecycle status
CE marked. Standards compliance includes EN/IEC 60204-11, EN/IEC 60529, EN/IEC 61800-3 (EMC), EN/IEC 61800-4, and EN/IEC 61800-5-1. An integrated EMC filter is fitted. The drive is sourced to order against the BOM; availability and pricing confirmed at RFQ.
