Medium-voltage drive in a floor-standing cabinet
The ATV1200A28003333 is an Altivar 1200 medium-voltage AC drive rated for 2341 kW motor power from a 2970…3630 V supply. It uses an 18-pulse diode rectifier bridge at the input, which reduces line-side harmonics without an external filter — relevant for sites with IEEE 519 compliance targets. The drive ships in a floor-standing enclosure with separate airflows for power and control sections. Standard-efficiency configuration measures 4560 mm wide × 2820 mm high × 1600 mm deep; the high-efficiency variant is 4860 mm wide × 2820 mm high × 1700 mm deep. The enclosure colour is grey RAL 7032.
Architecture and overload profile
Internally the drive consists of a phase-shifting transformer, nine power cells, medium-voltage arrestors, cooling fans, and a human-machine interface. The 18-pulse input stage draws a line current of 490 A and supports a prospective short-circuit current of 31.5 kA for 150 ms. Overload capability is specified for both standard and high overload profiles: 1.2 × In for 60 s or 1.5 × In for 3 s under standard overload, and 1.5 × In for 60 s or 1.85 × In for 3 s under high overload. This gives the commissioning engineer a clear window for setting the motor protection parameters. The drive is forced-air cooled with a volume of 33,200 m³/h for both efficiency variants. Control electronics require an external 220 V AC, 3 kVA supply; the cooling fans are powered from an internal 380 V AC supply, with an optional external 380 V AC fan supply available.

The ATV1200A28003333 carries CE marking and is designed to EN/IEC 60204-11, EN/IEC 60529, EN/IEC 61800-3, EN/IEC 61800-4, and EN/IEC 61800-5-1. Electrical isolation is maintained between power and control circuits, with a dielectric strength of 10 kV AC between earth and power terminals. Pollution degree 2 per EN/IEC 61800-5-1 applies. The drive is rated for installation at altitudes from 1000 m to 2000 m with a derating of 0.6 % per 100 m above 1000 m. Operating position is vertical ±10°. I/O complement and connection details
The drive provides four software-configurable analogue inputs accepting 0…20 mA or 4…20 mA, 24 V max, 250 Ω impedance. Two analogue outputs follow the same current range with 250 Ω impedance. Six discrete inputs are standard, expandable to ten. Power connections use M10 screw-type bar terminals accepting 6 × 40 mm² cable, with entry from the bottom or top of the enclosure. Output voltage is equal to or less than the supply voltage.
