What this 2550 kW MV drive is built for
The ATV1200A34906363 is a medium-voltage variable frequency drive from the Altivar 1200 family, rated for 2550 kW motor power on synchronous or asynchronous motors. It accepts a 2970–3630 V supply through a 36-pulse diode rectifier bridge, which keeps input harmonics low enough to meet IEEE 519 without external filtering in most installations. The drive draws 280 A line current at 3050 kVA apparent power. Overload capability is 1.2 In for 60 s (standard) or 1.5 In for 60 s (high overload), with a 3 s peak of 1.85 In on the high-overload profile — enough to handle crusher start-ups or conveyor breakaway torque without oversizing the drive.
Physical footprint and installation constraints
This is a floor-standing enclosure, not a cabinet-mount module. The standard-efficiency variant measures 5170 mm wide × 2740 mm high × 1700 mm deep; the high-efficiency variant is wider at 5470 mm. Both require a vertical mounting position within ±10° and forced convection cooling moving 43,200 m³/h of air. The enclosure includes two plinths, a phase-shifting transformer, 18 power cells, cooling fans, and an HMI. Power connection is via M10 bar-type terminals accepting up to 6 × 40 mm² conductors per phase, entry from top or bottom. Control supply is 220 V AC at 3 kVA; the cooling fan runs on a separate 380 V AC supply.
Standards compliance and isolation
CE marked, designed to EN/IEC 60204-11, 60529, 61800-3, 61800-4, and 61800-5-1. Electrical isolation between power and control circuits, dielectric strength tested at 20 kV AC between earth and power terminals. Pollution degree 2 per EN/IEC 61800-5-1, overvoltage category II.
