The ATV1200A35003333 is a Schneider Electric Altivar 1200 medium-voltage variable frequency drive rated for 2926 kW motor power with an apparent power of 3500 kVA. It accepts a supply voltage range of 2970...3630 V AC through an 18-pulse diode rectifier input stage, which inherently reduces line-side harmonics without an external filter. The 18-pulse topology means the drive draws line current at 720 A with a prospective short-circuit rating of 31.5 kA for 150 ms — the transformer and rectifier are built to handle fault-clearing coordination upstream.

Overload profile and speed range

Standard overload capability is 1.2 x rated current for 60 seconds and 1.5 x for 3 seconds; the high-overload profile steps to 1.5 x for 60 seconds and 1.85 x for 3 seconds. This gives the commissioning engineer a choice between a 120% continuous-duty machine and a 150% peak-duty machine depending on the load cycle — a crusher or centrifuge pulls the high-overload variant, a pump or fan runs standard. Speed range is 20...100%, meaning the drive can regulate down to 20% of base speed without a tachometer feedback — adequate for most variable-torque loads, but constant-torque applications below 20% need a speed encoder option.

Physical footprint and cooling

The drive ships as a floor-standing enclosure with separate air flows for the transformer and power cells. Dimensions are 1700 mm deep x 5870 mm wide x 2740 mm high — this is a room-sized asset, not a cabinet drop-in. Plan for a dedicated electrical room with a 60000 m³/h forced-convection cooling system and a noise level of 80 dB at full load. Operating altitude is 1000...2000 m with a 0.6% current derating per 100 m above 1000 m. At 2000 m the usable current drops to roughly 94% of the sea-level rating — factor this into the motor sizing if the installation is at elevation.

CE marked and designed to EN/IEC 60204-11, EN/IEC 60529, EN/IEC 61800-3 (EMC), EN/IEC 61800-4, and EN/IEC 61800-5-1. Pollution degree 2 per EN/IEC 61800-5-1, overvoltage category II. Dielectric strength is 10 kV AC between earth and power terminals — the transformer and cell isolation are dimensioned for medium-voltage service.
