Medium-voltage drive for synchronous and asynchronous motors
The ATV1200A3504242 is a medium-voltage variable frequency drive from the Altivar 1200 series, designed to control synchronous and asynchronous motors up to 293 kW. It delivers 350 kVA apparent power from a 2970–3630 V supply, using a 24-pulse diode rectifier bridge that reduces line harmonics without an external filter. The drive is assembled in a floor-standing enclosure with separate air flows for power and control sections, and forced convection cooling moves 9900 m³/h (standard efficiency) or 13200 m³/h (high efficiency) of air.
Overload profile and protection
Standard overload rating: 1.2× In for 60 s and 1.5× In for 3 s. High overload rating: 1.5× In for 60 s and 1.85× In for 3 s. This gives flexibility for applications with intermittent peak loads. Ground fault protection is built into the drive. Dielectric strength between earth and power terminals is 20 kV AC. Prospective line short-circuit current withstand is 31.5 kA for 150 ms. Pollution degree 2 per EN/IEC 61800-5-1, overvoltage category II.
CE marked. Standards include EN/IEC 60204-11, EN/IEC 60529, EN/IEC 61800-3, EN/IEC 61800-4, and EN/IEC 61800-5-1. An integrated EMC filter is included. Electrical isolation between power and control circuits. Control supply is 220 V AC, 3 kVA external; cooling fan supply is 380 V AC internal. Optional external supplies available.
