What the Altivar 1200 medium-voltage drive delivers
The ATV1200A36606666 is a medium-voltage AC drive from Schneider Electric's Altivar 1200 range, designed for large asynchronous motors up to 3060 kW. It operates from a 2970-3630 V supply and uses a 36-pulse diode rectifier bridge input, which significantly reduces line-side harmonics compared to 6- or 12-pulse topologies. Rated apparent power is 3660 kVA with a line current of 320 A.
Overload profile and protection
Standard overload capability is 1.2 In for 60 seconds and 1.5 In for 3 seconds; high overload mode pushes to 1.5 In for 60 seconds and 1.85 In for 3 seconds. Ground fault protection is built into the drive, and dielectric strength between earth and power terminals is 20 kV AC. The drive includes an integrated EMC filter and meets EN/IEC 61800-3 for conducted emissions in the industrial environment.
Physical footprint and cooling demands
This drive ships in a floor-standing enclosure with separate air flows for power and control sections. Dimensions: 2670 mm height (standard efficiency) or 2970 mm (high efficiency), 6670 mm width, 1700 mm depth. Forced convection cooling moves 33,000 m³/h of air in either efficiency variant, and the audible noise level reaches 80 dB.
Control interfaces and I/O complement
Four software-configurable analogue inputs accept 0-20 mA or 4-20 mA signals at 24 V max with 250 Ohm impedance. Two analogue outputs are similarly configurable for current signals. Discrete inputs number six standard, expandable to ten with an optional module. Electrical isolation is maintained between power and control circuits.
It carries CE marking and complies with EN/IEC 60204-11, EN/IEC 60529, EN/IEC 61800-3, EN/IEC 61800-4, and EN/IEC 61800-5-1.
