Physical footprint and enclosure integration
The ATV1200A3703333: Floor-standing enclosure with separate air flows — the standard-efficiency variant measures 2460 mm wide by 2520 mm high by 1400 mm deep; the high-efficiency variant adds width (2760 mm) and depth (1500 mm) to accommodate additional cooling capacity. The enclosure colour is grey RAL 7032. Forced-convection cooling moves 9900 m³/h (standard) or 13200 m³/h (high efficiency) through the cabinet, so the installation site must provide unobstructed airflow paths and clearance per the cabinet drawing.
Medium-voltage input and 18-pulse topology
Rated for a 2970…3630 V supply, the drive draws 65 A line current and delivers 370 kVA apparent power — enough for a 309 kW motor load on asynchronous or synchronous machines. The 18-pulse diode rectifier bridge reduces input current harmonics below IEEE 519 thresholds without an external filter, which simplifies upstream transformer sizing and avoids the cost of a separate harmonic filter cabinet. Output voltage tracks the supply voltage (≤ power supply voltage), so the motor sees the full line voltage minus internal drops — no step-up or step-down transformation inside the drive.
Overload capability and motor protection
Standard overload profile: 1.2× In for 60 s or 1.5× In for 3 s. High-overload profile: 1.5× In for 60 s or 1.85× In for 3 s. The choice between standard and high overload determines the continuous current rating of the power cells and affects the thermal budget of the enclosure. Ground-fault protection is built into the drive, and the dielectric strength between earth and power terminals is 10 kV AC — this covers the insulation coordination for a 3.3 kV system with overvoltage category II per EN/IEC 61800-5-1.
Auxiliary supplies and control wiring
The control electronics require an external 220 V AC supply rated at 3 kVA. The cooling fans draw from a separate 380 V AC supply — or optionally from 220 V AC/DC for the control and 380 V AC for the fans. These are not derived from the main DC bus, so the drive can be commissioned and the control powered up before the medium-voltage supply is applied. Four software-configurable analogue inputs (0…20 mA / 4…20 mA, 250 Ω impedance) and one analogue output (same range) handle speed reference and feedback. Six discrete inputs are standard, expandable to ten with an optional I/O board.
Standards, compliance, and lifecycle
CE marked. Designed to EN/IEC 60204-11, EN/IEC 60529, EN/IEC 61800-3 (EMC), EN/IEC 61800-4, and EN/IEC 61800-5-1. The integrated EMC filter covers conducted emissions for the first environment (restricted distribution) per the standard.
