Physical footprint and enclosure
The ATV1200A5703333: This drive ships in a floor-standing enclosure with separate air flows for the power section and control compartment. The standard-efficiency variant measures 1400 mm deep by 2460 mm wide by 2520 mm high; the high-efficiency variant adds depth to 1500 mm, width to 2760 mm, and height to 2670 mm. Forced-convection cooling moves 9900 m³/h (standard efficiency) or 13200 m³/h (high efficiency) of air. The 80 dB noise level means the enclosure location needs an acoustic assessment if it sits near occupied areas.
Power section and input topology
The input stage uses an 18-pulse diode rectifier bridge, which reduces line-side harmonics below the limits of IEEE 519 without an external filter. Supply voltage limits are 2970 to 3630 V AC, drawing 100 A line current at full load. Apparent power rating is 570 kVA, with a motor power capability of 477 kW for both asynchronous and synchronous motors. Output voltage equals the supply voltage, so the motor winding insulation must match the incoming line level. The drive withstands a prospective short-circuit current of 31.5 kA for 150 ms — coordinate the upstream protection to clear within that window to avoid damage to the input bridge.
Overload capability and motor protection
Standard overload profile handles 1.2 × In for 60 seconds and 1.5 × In for 3 seconds. The high-overload profile extends to 1.5 × In for 60 seconds and 1.85 × In for 3 seconds — this matters when sizing for high-inertia loads like centrifuges or crushers that need breakaway torque. Ground-fault protection is built into the drive, covering the power section. Dielectric strength between earth and power terminals is 10 kV AC.
Control wiring and auxiliaries
The control section needs an external 220 V AC supply rated at 3 kVA; an optional 220 V AC/DC supply is available. The cooling fan runs on a separate 380 V AC supply, also optional. Electrical isolation between power and control circuits is standard. Four software-configurable analogue inputs (0–20 mA / 4–20 mA, 250 Ω impedance) and one analogue output of the same type handle process feedback. Six discrete inputs are standard, expandable to ten with an option card.
The drive carries CE marking and complies with EN/IEC 60204-11, EN/IEC 60529, EN/IEC 61800-3 (EMC), EN/IEC 61800-4, and EN/IEC 61800-5-1 (safety). Pollution degree 2 per the safety standard and overvoltage category II apply. An integrated EMC filter is fitted as standard. Operating altitude is 1000 to 2000 m with a derating of 0.6 % per 100 m above 1000 m — factor this into the installation if the site is above 1000 m elevation.
