Medium-voltage drive for synchronous and asynchronous motors
The Schneider Electric ATV1200A7305555 is an Altivar 1200 series medium-voltage AC drive rated for 610 kW motor power at 730 kVA apparent power, with a supply voltage range of 2970 to 3630 V AC. It drives both synchronous and asynchronous motors, making it a fit for large pump, fan, compressor, and conveyor applications in heavy industry.
30-pulse input and overload capability
The 30-pulse diode rectifier bridge input topology delivers low input harmonic distortion — typically below 5% THD without an external filter — which simplifies compliance with IEEE 519 at the point of common coupling. Overload capability is specified at 1.2× In for 60 seconds and 1.5× In for 3 seconds under standard duty, or 1.5× In for 60 seconds and 1.85× In for 3 seconds under high overload — the high overload profile suits applications with intermittent peak torque demands like crushers or extruders.
Physical footprint and installation constraints
The drive ships in a floor-standing enclosure with separate air flows. Standard-efficiency configuration measures 2590 mm high × 2860 mm wide × 1400 mm deep; the high-efficiency variant adds height to 2740 mm, width to 3460 mm, and depth to 1500 mm. Cooling is forced convection requiring 16,600 m³/h airflow for standard efficiency and 23,200 m³/h for high efficiency — the room ventilation system must be sized accordingly, and the operating position is vertical ±10 degrees.
Auxiliary supply and control wiring
The control section requires an external 220 V AC supply at 3 kVA; the cooling fans draw from a separate 380 V AC supply. An optional 220 V AC/DC control supply is available, and the fan supply can also be fed externally. Electrical isolation between power and control sections simplifies grounding — the control circuits can share a common reference without coupling noise from the medium-voltage power stage.
Standards, protection, and environmental limits
CE marked and compliant with EN/IEC 61800-3 (EMC), EN/IEC 61800-4 (harmonic), EN/IEC 61800-5-1 (safety), EN/IEC 60204-11 (machinery), and EN/IEC 60529 (ingress protection). Pollution degree 2 per EN/IEC 61800-5-1. Integrated EMC filter and ground-fault protection are built in. Dielectric strength is 20 kV AC between earth and power terminals. Prospective short-circuit current withstand is 31.5 kA for 150 ms. Operating altitude is 1000 to 2000 m with a 0.6% current derating per 100 m above 1000 m. Relative humidity range is 0 to 90% (0 to 95% optional). Noise level is 80 dB.
