6270 kW at 3.3 kV — the load this drive carries
The ATV1200A75006060 is rated for 6270 kW motor power on synchronous or asynchronous machines, fed from a 2970–3630 V supply. That puts it squarely in the medium-voltage drive class — not a 480 V unit you bolt to a wall, but a floor-standing installation that needs a dedicated transformer and switchgear upstream. Apparent power is 7500 kVA at 720 A line current, which is what you hand to the electrical contractor for cable and breaker sizing. The 30-pulse diode rectifier front end keeps input harmonics low enough that you can skip external filters in most installations.
Standard overload rating holds 1.2× rated current for 60 seconds and 1.5× for 3 seconds; the high-overload profile pushes to 1.5× for 60 seconds and 1.85× for 3 seconds. For a crusher or centrifuge application where the peak torque window is short, the high-overload curve gives you headroom without oversizing the drive frame. Prospective short-circuit current withstand is 31.5 kA for 150 ms. That sets the upstream breaker coordination — the drive can ride through a fault on the line side long enough for the feeder breaker to clear, but the protection engineer needs to confirm the let-through energy stays within the drive's rating.
Physical footprint and cooling — plan the room before the drive arrives
The enclosure measures 3040 mm high × 8970 mm wide × 1700 mm deep in standard efficiency configuration. That is a substantial floor footprint — you are not sliding this into an existing panel. The floor-standing enclosure routes separate air flows for power components and control, with forced-convection cooling moving 90,000 m³/h of air. Operating altitude above 1000 m requires derating 0.6 % per 100 m up to 2000 m. If your site is at 1500 m, budget a 3 % current reduction. The drive is rated for vertical installation within ±10° and vibration up to 4.9 m/s² at 10–50 Hz.
Lifecycle and compliance — active production, CE marked
Dielectric strength between earth and power terminals is 20 kV AC. Electrical isolation between power and control circuits is standard. The integrated EMC filter covers conducted emissions for the drive's power range.
Control wiring and I/O complement
The drive ships with 4 software-configurable analogue inputs (0–20 mA / 4–20 mA, 24 V max, 250 Ω impedance) and 1 analogue output of the same type. Discrete inputs are 6 standard, expandable to 10 with an option. Control supply is 220 V AC at 3 kVA, with an optional 220 V AC/DC external supply; the cooling fan runs on 380 V AC internal or optional external supply. The HMI is included in the product composition, along with the phase-shifting transformer, medium-voltage arrestors, and 15 power cells.
