Medium-voltage drive, 48-pulse architecture
The ATV1200A9401010 is a Schneider Electric Altivar 1200 medium-voltage AC drive rated for 786 kW motor power at 940 kVA apparent power, supplied from a 2970-3630 V line. Its 48-pulse diode rectifier bridge input draws 65 A line current and delivers the harmonic profile needed to meet IEEE 519 without external filtering on most installations.
Physical footprint and enclosure
This drive ships as a floor-standing enclosure measuring 2670 mm high by 4260 mm wide by 1600 mm deep, with separate air flows for the power section and control compartment. Forced convection cooling moves 23100 m³/h of air at standard efficiency; the operating position is vertical within ±10 degrees.
Overload capability and isolation margins
Standard overload rating handles 1.2× rated current for 60 s and 1.5× for 3 s; the high-overload profile extends to 1.5× for 60 s and 1.85× for 3 s. Dielectric strength between earth and power terminals is 28 kV AC, with electrical isolation between power and control circuits per EN/IEC 61800-5-1.
System composition and supply requirements
The drive comprises two plinths, a phase-shifting transformer, medium-voltage arrestors, cooling fans, a human-machine interface, and 24 power cells. Control supply is 220 V AC at 3 kVA (external), with an optional 220 V AC/DC external supply; the internal cooling fan supply is 380 V AC.
Compliance and environmental limits
CE marked and designed to EN/IEC 60204-11, EN/IEC 60529, EN/IEC 61800-3, EN/IEC 61800-4, and EN/IEC 61800-5-1. Pollution degree 2 per the latter standard. Operating altitude range is 1000-2000 m with 0.6 % current derating per 100 m above 1000 m; relative humidity 0-90 % standard, 0-95 % optional.
