The ATV212HD30N4 is a 30 kW variable speed drive from the Altivar 212 series, designed for three-phase 380-480 V supply with a line current of 44.7 A at 480 V and 56.7 A at 380 V. Apparent power is 44.6 kVA at 380 V. An integrated Class C2 EMC filter is standard, meeting IEC 61800-3 category C2 conducted emissions limits for industrial environments — no external filter needed for most installations. The drive includes an adjustable PI regulator for closed-loop process control, plus protections against short-circuit, overcurrent, overvoltage on the DC bus, input phase loss, motor overheating with PTC probes, and motor phase break.

Panel fit and fieldbus integration

Dimensions are 16.5 in (420 mm) high by 9.4 in (240 mm) wide by 8.4 in (214 mm) deep. Mounted vertically ±10°, with a required air flow of 290 m³/h through the heatsink for thermal management. Communication is via a 2-wire RS-485 physical interface using RTU protocol at 9600 or 19200 bps. An optional LonWorks communication card is available for building automation integration. Two analog inputs are provided: VIA switch-configurable for voltage (0-10 V DC) or current (0-20 mA), and VIB configurable for voltage or PTC probe input (up to 6 probes, 1500 Ohm).
