The ATV212HU75N4LCD is a 7.5 kW / 10 hp variable speed drive from the Altivar 212 series, sized for standard three-phase asynchronous motors on 380–480 V supplies. It draws 14.7 A line current at 380 V and 11.7 A at 480 V, with an apparent power rating of 12.2 kVA at 380 V. The integrated Class C2 EMC filter covers most industrial environments without an external filter — check the standard matrix: the drive carries IEC 61800-3 Category C2 and C3, EN 61800-3 Category C1/C2/C3, and EN 55011 Class A Group 1, so it fits both first-environment (residential) and second-environment (industrial) installations with the appropriate cable and grounding practices. Communication is handled via the built-in 2-wire RS-485 port running Modbus RTU at 9600 or 19200 bps, with 1 to 247 addresses. The analog I/O includes one switch-configurable voltage/current input (0–10 V DC or 0–20 mA) and one configurable voltage input or PTC probe input — enough for a basic PI control loop with the adjustable PI regulator. An optional LonWorks communication card is available if the plant uses that backbone.
Protection and environmental ratings
The drive lists comprehensive internal protections: overheating of the drive and power stage, short-circuit between motor phases, overcurrent between output phases and earth, overvoltages on the DC bus, input phase loss, line supply over/undervoltage, motor thermal protection, and PTC probe monitoring. Operating altitude is 1000 m without derating, with 1 % derating per 100 m up to 3000 m — limited to 2000 m for corner-grounded distribution networks. Shock resistance is 15 gn for 11 ms per IEC 60068-2-27, and the operating position is vertical ±10°.
