37 kW VFD with integrated C2 EMC filter
The ATV212WD37N4 is a 37 kW Altivar 212 AC drive from Schneider Electric, designed for variable-speed control of asynchronous motors on 3-phase 380…480 V line supplies. Its 52 kVA apparent power at 380 V and 68.9 A line current at 380 V (54.4 A at 480 V) tell you this drive is sized for a 37 kW motor load — the headroom above the motor FLA matters when the driven load cycles hard or the line sags.
Panel fit and mounting constraints
This drive measures 34.6 in (880 mm) high by 11.2 in (284 mm) wide by 13.5 in (343 mm) deep — a tall, narrow footprint that suits a floor-standing enclosure rather than a shallow wall-mount cabinet. It mounts vertically within ±10° and needs clearance around the heat sink for natural convection; derate output current 1% per 100 m above 1000 m altitude, with a hard limit at 2000 m for corner-grounded distribution networks.
Protection coverage and process control
The drive packs a full set of protection functions: overcurrent, short-circuit between motor phases, earth fault, DC bus overvoltage, input phase loss, motor thermal protection, and PTC probe input. On the control side, an adjustable PI regulator handles closed-loop process control (pressure, flow, level) without an external controller. The analogue input accepts 0…10 V DC or 0…20 mA via switch-configurable VIA, and a separate VIB input can be configured for voltage or PTC probe.
Communication and serial interface
Standard Modbus serial communication over a 2-wire RS 485 physical interface, RTU frame, at 9600 or 19200 bps. The drive supports up to 247 addresses on the bus. An optional LonWorks communication card can be added for building-automation networks.
