75 kW VFD for asynchronous motors — 380-480 V, 3-phase
The ATV21WD75N4 is a 75 kW Altivar 21 AC drive designed for three-phase asynchronous motors, supplied from a 380-480 V three-phase line. It delivers 111.3 A line current at 480 V (141.8 A at 380 V) and integrates a Class A EMC filter, simplifying panel compliance with EN 55011 Class A Group 1.
Switching frequency and torque capability
The adjustable switching frequency ranges from 6 to 16 kHz; above 8 kHz a derating factor applies, so for quiet motor operation at 16 kHz the continuous output current must be reduced. Transient overtorque is rated at 120 % of nominal motor torque for 60 seconds, which handles short-duration load spikes on conveyors or pumps without oversizing the drive.
Physical footprint and mounting
The drive measures 39.4 in (1000 mm) high by 14.3 in (362 mm) wide by 14.3 in (364 mm) deep, with an integrated heatsink. It mounts vertically within ±10 degrees — the height demands a tall enclosure, and the heatsink requires clearance for airflow. Pollution degree 3 per IEC 61800-5-1 means it tolerates conductive dust in industrial environments.
Standards and compliance documentation
CE marked, the drive complies with IEC 61800-5-1 (safety), IEC 61800-3 (EMC environments 1 and 2, categories C1 through C3), and EN 55011 Class A Group 1. The integrated EMC filter covers conducted emissions for most industrial installations; for category C2 (residential) an external filter may be needed. Dielectric strength is 3535 V DC between earth and power terminals, 5092 V DC between control and power terminals.
