Drive rating and motor match
The ATV320D11N4C is rated 11 kW heavy duty at 480 V, delivering 22.2 kVA apparent power — sized for a 15 HP motor on a pump, fan, or conveyor where the load profile stays within the heavy-duty current envelope. Line current draw is 36.6 A at 380 V heavy duty and 25.6 A at 500 V heavy duty — the supply cable and upstream protection must be sized for the 380 V figure if the installation runs at that voltage.
Fieldbus and I/O complement
The drive accepts plug-in communication modules for CANopen, EtherCAT, Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, Ethernet Powerlink, EtherNet/IP, and DeviceNet — the base unit ships without a card, so order the matching module for your control network. Seven digital inputs (DI1–DI6 plus STO), three analogue inputs (voltage, bipolar differential voltage, and current), and one analogue output are available for local control loops and sensor feedback — the adjustable PID regulator handles closed-loop process regulation without an external controller.
Protection and environmental coverage
Built-in protections cover input phase loss, output phase-to-earth shorts, motor overheat, drive overcurrent, and thermal overload — the drive handles short-circuit between motor phases without external fusing for the motor branch. Marked CE, ATEX, UL, CSA, EAC, and RCM — the ATEX marking indicates it can be installed in a non-hazardous area driving a motor in a classified zone, provided the motor and cabling meet the zone requirements.
Physical fit and mounting
Wall-mount format, 330 mm high by 180 mm wide by 198 mm deep — the compact envelope fits a standard 600 mm wide panel with clearance for cooling air (156 m³/h required). Operating position is vertical ±10°, and the switching frequency is adjustable from 2 to 16 kHz with derating above 4 kHz — mounting in a horizontal orientation or restricting airflow will force a lower carrier frequency to stay within thermal limits.
