Switching frequency derating and thermal management
Switching frequency is adjustable from 2 to 16 kHz, but operation above 4 kHz requires derating the continuous output current. At 8 kHz carrier the drive loses roughly 20 % of its rated current capacity, so if the load profile is near the nameplate limit, keep the carrier at 4 kHz or lower to avoid overheating the power stage. The drive moves 156 m³/h (41211.6 Gal/hr US) of cooling air through the heatsink. Wall-mount orientation is specified as vertical ±10 degrees; tilting the drive beyond that angle restricts natural convection and will raise the junction temperature above the design limit.
Fieldbus options and I/O complement
The drive accepts communication modules for CANopen, EtherCAT, Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, Ethernet Powerlink, EtherNet/IP, and DeviceNet — the base unit ships without a fieldbus card, so order the module separately to match your control network. Seven digital inputs (DI1–DI6 plus STO) and three digital outputs are onboard, with DI5 configurable as a pulse input up to 30 kHz for encoder or flow-meter feedback. The three analogue inputs include one voltage (0–10 V DC), one bipolar differential (±10 V DC), and one current (0–20 mA or 4–20 mA) channel, giving flexibility for pressure, temperature, or speed reference signals without an external signal conditioner.
