The Schneider ATV350U15N4W is a basic version Altivar Machine ATV350 drive, sized for 1.5 kW asynchronous or synchronous motors on 400-480 V three-phase supply. It delivers 6.3 A continuous output current across a 1-599 Hz frequency range, with an integrated Class C2 EMC filter for conducted emissions compliance up to 10 m cable runs. The drive includes STO (Safe Torque Off) as a standard safety function, meeting IEC 61508 and IEC 13849-1 requirements for safe-stop integration.
The 6.3 A output current is rated for standard conveying applications — that's the duty point where the drive delivers full rated current without derating. For other load profiles or ambient temperatures above 40 °C, the 3-phase design includes a current derating of 2.5 % per °C, so panel placement and airflow matter. The drive is naturally air-cooled (AN), meaning no fan to fail, but it needs clear space around the wall-mounted enclosure for convection. Switching frequency is adjustable from 2 to 16 kHz; above the default, you lose output current capacity at the rate of 0.5 % per additional 100 m of altitude above 1000 m. At sea level, the 2-16 kHz range covers most motor noise and efficiency trade-offs, but if you need full rated current at 16 kHz, check the thermal derating curve in the manual.
The drive carries CE, UL, CULus, IEC, and UKCA markings, and complies with IEC 61800-5-1 (safety), IEC 61800-3 (EMC environments 1 category C2 and 2 category C3), UL 508C, IEC 60721-3 (environmental), and IEC 61508 / IEC 13849-1 (functional safety). The integrated EMC filter covers conducted emissions for both C2 and C3 environments, so no external filter is needed for most installations. Documentation includes the standard EU Declaration of Conformity and manufacturer's test certificates.
