280 kW drive for medium-voltage motor control
The ATV6000D350A4242ND is a Schneider Altivar Process ATV6000 medium-voltage drive rated 280 kW normal duty and 260 kW heavy duty, with 350 kVA apparent power. The 24-pulse diode rectifier input keeps total harmonic current distortion below 3% per IEEE 519-1992 without an external filter. Output uses IGBT inverter cells with multilevel PWM topology, driving asynchronous, synchronous, or permanent magnet motors. The 10-inch LCD touchscreen HMI is included for local commissioning and diagnostics.
Floor-standing enclosure and site prep
The drive ships in a floor-standing enclosure 99.9 in high, 104.7 in wide, 55.1 in deep. Cable entry is bottom-only, so plan the gland plate and conduit drop before positioning. Forced convection cooling with an 80 dB noise level — account for acoustic impact in the equipment room. Auxiliary supplies needed: 400 V AC 3 kVA for the cooling fan, 100–240 V AC or 120–370 V DC 1 kVA for the control circuit, plus 24 V DC for digital inputs and PoE. The phase-shifting transformer and power cells are included.
Line current is 48.6 A normal duty, 45 A heavy duty. Power losses run 12.2 kW normal duty, 11.4 kW heavy duty — factor this into the room cooling budget.
