450 kW drive with <3% input harmonics
The Schneider Electric ATV6000D570A6666ND is a 480V-class AC drive from the Altivar Process ATV6000 family, rated 450 kW in normal duty and 430 kW in heavy duty. It uses a 30-pulse diode rectifier input stage that keeps total harmonic current distortion below 3% per IEEE 519-1992, eliminating the need for external harmonic filters on most installations. This is a large-footprint drive delivered in a floor-standing enclosure measuring 55.1 inches deep by 108.7 inches wide by 103.0 inches tall. The package includes the phase-shifting transformer, power cells, medium voltage arrestors, HMI, cooling fans, and plinth — it arrives as a complete drive system, not a bare chassis.
Active production with multi-protocol fieldbus
Communication flexibility is built in via Slot A and Slot B option card architecture. Slot A accepts Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, CANopen (RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals), or EtherCAT modules. Slot B handles encoder interfaces (5/12 V digital, analog, resolver, HTL) and digital/analog I/O or output relay extension modules.
Compliance and installation context
The drive carries cULus, CE, and UKCA markings and complies with IEC 61800-3 (EMC categories C3 control / C4 power), IEC 61800-4, IEC 61800-5-1, IEC 60529, IEEE 519:1992, EN/IEC 60076, and UL 347A. Pollution degree 2 per IEC 61800-5-1 applies to the internal environment. Cable entry is at the bottom of the enclosure. The drive is forced-convection cooled and rated for 5% to 95% relative humidity without condensation. Operating altitude is 1000 to 2000 meters with derating. The 80 dB noise level means hearing protection is advisable in the equipment room.
