110 kW normal duty — the output current that decides the motor match
The ATV630C11N4F is a Schneider Altivar Process variable speed drive rated 110 kW for normal-duty loads and 90 kW for heavy-duty applications. Continuous output current is 211 A at 2.5 kHz switching for normal duty, 173 A for heavy duty — these are the numbers that govern the motor cable sizing and the thermal load on the enclosure. Supply voltage is 380-440 V three-phase, drawing 179 A line current at 400 V under normal duty. The drive is floor-standing with forced convection cooling moving 720 m³/h of air, so it needs clearance around the intake and exhaust — not a panel-mount unit.
STO SIL 3 and integrated EMC filter — safety and compliance built in
Safe torque off (STO) is rated SIL 3 per IEC 61800-5-2, meaning the drive can be used in safety circuits up to PL e / SIL 3 without an external safety relay for the torque-off function. The integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 category C3 with 150 m of motor cable, so external filtering is not needed for most industrial installations. The drive carries CE marking and complies with IEC 60204-1, IEC 61800-2, IEC 61800-3, and IEC 61800-5-1. IP21 protection means it is suitable for indoor, dry environments — not washdown or outdoor without additional enclosure.
Fieldbus flexibility and I/O complement
Slot A accepts communication modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, CANopen (three connector variants), and Ethernet Powerlink. Slot A or B can take a digital/analog I/O extension or output relay extension. The drive also has 8 discrete inputs, one programmable as a pulse input up to 30 kHz, and onboard Modbus serial and Modbus TCP Ethernet.
