Communication and expansion
The ATV630C11N4US: Onboard communication is Modbus TCP and Modbus serial — enough for a standard controller link. If the line requires Profibus DP, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, or CANopen, slot A takes the corresponding option card. The drive also accepts I/O extension or relay output modules in slot A or B. This keeps fieldbus flexibility without wasting internal space.
Mounting and environmental
Wall-mount only, vertical ±10° orientation. Standard IP00 means open frame; IP21 is possible with the VW3A9704 kit (order separately). Forced convection cooling moves 600 m³/h of air; keep clearance above and below as per the manual. The drive is rated for pollution degree 2, overvoltage category III, and vibration up to 1.5 mm pk-pk at 2-13 Hz. Altitude derating starts above 1000 m (1% per 100 m).
