55 kW process drive with STO and integrated EMC filter
The ATV630D55N4 is a 55 kW normal-duty / 45 kW heavy-duty variable speed drive from the Altivar Process ATV600 family, designed for asynchronous and synchronous motors in process and utility applications. Continuous output current is 106 A at 2.5 kHz for normal duty, 88 A at 2.5 kHz for heavy duty; line current at 480 V normal duty is 84.2 A. The integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 category C3 for 150 m cable runs, covering most industrial installations without an external filter.
Fieldbus slot and I/O complement
Slot A accepts communication modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, CANopen (RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals), Ethernet Powerlink, and BACnet MS/TP. Native Ethernet, Modbus serial, and Modbus TCP are on the base unit; Slot A/B also accepts digital/analog I/O extension and output relay modules. Eight discrete inputs are provided, with DI7 and DI8 programmable as pulse inputs up to 30 kHz. An adjustable PID regulator is built in, so the drive handles closed-loop process control (pressure, flow, level) without an external controller.
Mounting, cooling, and environmental limits
Wall-mount form factor with IP21 protection per IEC 60529 and IEC 61800-5-1; UL type 1 per UL 508C. Forced convection cooling moves 295 m³/h of air; noise level is 62.4 dB. Operating altitude range is 1000 to 4800 m with 1 % current derating per 100 m above 1000 m; the drive must be mounted vertical ±10°. Vibration resistance is 1.5 mm peak-to-peak at 2–13 Hz and 1 gn at 13–200 Hz per IEC 60068-2-6; shock resistance is 15 gn for 11 ms per IEC 60068-2-27.
