Drive sizing and current production status
The Schneider ATV630D55N4US is an Altivar Process ATV600 series variable speed drive, marked as a standard version with CE compliance and a current lifecycle stage — no end-of-life notice stands. It is rated for 55 kW normal duty (45 kW heavy duty) on a 380-480 V supply, delivering 106 A continuous at 2.5 kHz switching in normal duty, 88 A in heavy duty. Asynchronous and synchronous motors are both in scope.
Built-in EMC filter and environmental rating
This drive carries an integrated EMC filter rated for IEC 61800-3 category C3 environments — suitable for industrial second-environment installations (no public low-voltage supply). The filter supports cable lengths up to 150 m before you need to add output reactors or external filtering. Enclosure is IP21 / UL type 1 with forced convection cooling; the fan moves about 295 m³/h and hits 62.4 dB at full speed. Mount vertically (±10°), wall-mount style. No derating needed up to 1000 m; above that lose 1% per 100 m.
Safety function and control network flexibility
Safe Torque Off (STO) is integrated at SIL 3, meeting IEC 61508 and IEC 13849-1. For control networks the base drive includes Ethernet and Modbus serial with Modbus TCP protocol; slot A accepts pluggable communication modules for Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, CANopen, Ethernet Powerlink, BACnet MS/TP, or a second Ethernet/IP-Modbus TCP port. That slot can also host digital/analog I/O extension or relay output modules. Standard compliance covers UL 508C, multiple IEC 61800-3 categories (C2, C3), and TAA (Trade Agreements Act) through COTS.
