The Schneider ATV630U22N4Z is a standard version Altivar Process ATV630 variable speed drive sized for a 2.2 kW normal-duty or 1.5 kW heavy-duty motor on a 380...480 V three-phase supply. Nominal output current is 5.6 A; continuous output at 4 kHz switching is 5.6 A for normal duty and 4 A for heavy duty. Output frequency range is 0.1...500 Hz, covering both asynchronous and synchronous motors. The integrated EMC filter meets IEC 61800-3 Category C2 at 10 m cable and Category C3 at 50 m cable (with optional EMC plate), which simplifies panel layout for most industrial environments without an external filter. Safe Torque Off (STO) is built in at SIL 3, so this drive can serve in safety circuits up to that level without an external safety relay for the stop function.
Panel integration checklist
Cabinet mount with a finned heatsink; forced convection cooling moves 38 m³/h of air. Mount vertically within ±10° of plumb. IP20 enclosure means it lives inside a panel — no washdown exposure, but fine for clean dry cabinets. Operating altitude up to 1000 m full rating, then derate 1% per 100 m to 4800 m.

Slot A accepts a range of communication option cards: Profibus DP V1, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/EtherNet/IP, CANopen (RJ45, SUB-D 9, or screw terminals), Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP/MD-Link, BACnet MS/TP, and Ethernet Powerlink. Slot A/B also accepts digital/analog I/O extension and output relay extension modules. Onboard communication includes Modbus TCP, Modbus serial, and Ethernet. Eight discrete inputs are standard; DI7 and DI8 can be programmed as pulse inputs up to 30 kHz. An adjustable PID regulator is built in for process control loops.
